annie is non-binary artist currently located in portland, or. a southern transplant to the pacific northwest, their work is informed by a queer identity formed in alabama. they have dedicated their life to movement and art. their training began in tuscaloosa, al, studying classical ballet, contemporary, tap and jazz dance styles, along with visual art study focused in pen & ink drafting, acrylic painting and linoleum-cut printmaking. annie attended countless national dance conventions throughout their early career, placing at competitions and receiving scholarships. later, they attended the university of alabama and received a b.a. in dance and french with a minor in art history. their tenure there included scholarship awards, numerous performances and induction to phi beta kappa honor society. soon after, annie began their professional career as an independent multi-disciplinary artist. their work is presently centered around exploring queer movement language, collage art, self-portraiture and textiles. most recently, annie was selected to perform in ten tiny dances 2019 in beaverton, or.
